    My simple rule is, "Would someone be fired/promoted if there was a significant change to this metric?" - if yes, you've probably found your "one metric that matters"

    These slides are great - thanks for posting them.

    I particularly like the goal breakdown you get to on slide 17. My work maps closest to the App model with a download and go software solution.

    Would you have any further advice for a non-SaaS B2B software company?

      I'm assuming you are basically asking what is the closest metric to MRR for a non-SaaS B2B business. I think NPS would probably be the closest thing. If I had to narrow to three key metrics, it would probably be:

      1) New customers
      2) Engagement
      3) Average revenue per customer

      Just my opinion. Curious what other people think.
