What are your biggest takeaways from the GrowthHackers 2017 conference?
I'm at the conference now and figured it would be useful if we called out some of our favorite insights in one place!
For me, two themes kept emerging through all the talks:
a. Understand what your North Star Metric is.
Without this, you really aren't going to be able to focus your growth efforts.
b. Understand your growth model.
If you don't know where your growth comes from, you cannot predict where it will go.
Something that resonated with me throughout the morning sessions was the concept of prioritizing the mission of your brand or product.
Obviously data analysis is important, but it shouldn't exclusively be your consideration. You can unify your team with a cause and also emotionally connect with your audiences all by keeping your eyes on communicating and acting on the overall mission.
It makes sense -- we're all people, after all, and we want to know: Why are you selling this product/service? How will it help me? What problems are you solving? What motivates your team?
