Love this concept. It's a great way to get quick feedback on a flow, landing page, or new test that you're running. Can't wait to try it for a few of the things we're working on here.

This looks really cool Morgan. How'd you find out about this?

I reached out to Phil from UserTesting to give us some codes, it's a new initiative they're launching. He'll swing by here to answer some questions too.

Awesome job Morgan! I just tried it and I was blown away by the feedback. I got my video done within an hour too. I will be using this service again.

I think this might be the last time I hear the usual "get out of the building". It will be more like stay in the building to do your cust dev! ;-)

It's a great tool, but I can't take credit for it. Thank Phil and the UserTesting.com team :)

Love your quote about customer development—they should use it as a testimonial!

I thanked the guys at UserTesting.com by sending them an email. A great job on their part of raising awareness of the platform. Free trial on steroids.

You deserve thanks too by directing me to Peek. I wonder if UserTesting has some sort of referral program...growth hack! :-)

Nice to see the perspective of someone who's never been to your site and how they interpret/engage your site. The CRO potential for this is insane.

Here's the user test that we just ran on GrowthHackers.com http://peek.usertesting.com/result/77471921048

Peak seems like it could be a good growth hack for UserTesting.com. My guess is that their goal for Peak is to

    1) Of course Peak gives companies the ability to trial the UserTesting service in a super simple way.
    2) The fact that a company can run 3 free tests per month, makes me think it's more than just a free trial. Each test creates public content that helps bring more awareness and attention to UserTesting.com. If you want to run private user tests, you can pay the $40.

In the spirit of honest feedback, I think I'd be a lot less likely to pay $40 for a test if I could just use Peak. It's capped at 5 minutes, but that's plenty of time to get a good read.

I wonder if there's a cap per domain? That seems like an easy way to keep the freemium version from canabalizing the paid service.

Just ran one of these on a landing page and it gave me at least 5 ideas to try for optimizations right away. Awesome resource.

Awesome! Anyone know how they're able to offer this for free?

I think they probably pay the user testers a bit, but that essentially it's an investment in content marketing. Imagine if they pay $5 per user tester. That's pretty cheap content creation.

Hey Dylan, Sean is exactly right. We're trying to make it really darn easy for the world to give user testing a try so that they can see just how helpful it is. Then, hopefully, when they're ready for a more robust solution, they remember us :)

Good to see that this is back live again, the first time it didn't last a day - guess the demand was too high :)
