Looking to test my assumptions on who is in charge of mobile app messaging campaigns using any or all of the following: push notifications, in-app, SMS, email.

    Let's break it down real quick. Whoever is doing this needs to do the following:

    1. Convey the messaging to the audience
    2. Know how to interpret the data
    3. Can discover behavioral flow and recognize weaknesses/strengths

    In my experience, this is the job of the marketing and sales component of your team. In a company that is really small and doesn't have a dedicated marketing or sales member this responsibility would probably fall on whoever is in charge of the product and/or UI/UX.
