Hey GH! Looking for recommendations on tools to segment customers on specific properties. If I was using it for Growth Hackers, I'd like to be able to do something like "Segment the users by product companies vs agencies, then show me the average number of posts per industry."

Totally happy with the data not being automated, but the spreadsheet I'm currently working with is no longer cutting it :).

Ah, I love segmentation like this.

In my last role at inbound.org (similar to GrowthHackers) we found significant growth with hyper-segmented outreach emails to match users and content. Sent about quarter of a million outreach emails personally by the end of it: https://inbound.org/blog/the-future-of-email-highs-lows-and-lessons-from-100000-outreach-emails

To do this we plugged our SQL database (user profiles, user actions) into HubSpot (marketing engagement, emails) and sent off messages to segments of about 500 members.

But, it took a ton of engineering time to wire it all together (there's six common methods teams here: https://www.hull.io/blog/customer-data-integration/)

Then I came across Hull which makes it point-and-click. Create segments from data in any tool or database you connect, then sync to any tool you want in real-time. Take your analytics + CRM + product usage + data enrichment + email engagement and use that to create "master" segments. HubSpot Lists = Facebook Custom Audiences = Optimizely Audiences = Salesforce Leads etc.
