Hi guys, if you know that there's a big event coming in combination with a massive traffic peak (500k) on your website, which tools/methods would you use to convert as many users as possible (shop) and to collect user data from micro-conversions? Thanks!

    500,000 visitors will give you enough opportunities to run several tests and to use that data for future marketing and growth tactics. Given there is a big event, it sounds like you'll only have one shot to try to convert as many people as possible so I would test a variety of promotional offers of different monetary values to see what drives the most micro-conversions. Anyone who goes to your site, but does not convert, should be retargeted via {most relevant social network here} and offer them another promotion that should still give you a positive return on investment.

    I agree with Justin that, you have to be all set for retargeting customers if you the miss the one shot opportunity to convert them. This would also ensure that you have a proper follow up plan in place so that you have a way to connect and engage with the peak time visitors in future. I would suggest that you can try using tools like Web Push Notifications. Once your customers opt-in you can re-engage them by sending them targeted notifications about time bound sales, offers on the products they browsed about and new product launches. Since Push Notifications doesn't require customers to enter their email address it feels less intrusive to the users and since users don't have to be on your website to receive them(they just need to have their browser open) it adds an additional advantage for the eCommerce business as well.
