I've been working with a client on a B2C app for about three years. It's currently revenue generating and somewhat profitable, but there is a lot of overheard that the client would like to offload.
The believe that there is a market for companies wishing to use this app as a direct marketing channel and would pay to white label it. I'm trying to figure out a way to validate that there is market demand for this type of product and that there are people who would purchase it.
How would you go about doing this?
For the sake of argument, showing potential customers what they've built and asking, "Would you buy this?" doesn't go far enough to show validation of market. If this were a consumer product, I'd put up a landing page with a fake product to "buy", run some search or Facebook ads to the page and gauge how many people were interested in purchasing, but I don't think that's necessarily going far enough either.
