Running a small SaaS startup I definitely need to start selling to generate cash!After some research on Google yesterday night I definitely need to build database full of leads to start a marketing email campaign. The problem is that I don't have the time to look for individual email addresses of my prospects. I need to do it ASAP or I ll run out of cash. What will be the solution? I am ready to pay for a plan if the solution works well and give me really good/accurate leads.

    A lot of these responses seem to involve emailing people who have not opted in to your list. The last time I checked, this was called spamming and while not technically illegal is likely to get you a cold response from a lot of people. Sure you might get some leads this way, but you could also turn a lot of people off permanently.

    Have you tested any trial conversions using Google AdWords yet? I don't know what niche you are in or what your product is (or if you have any current paying customers) but if you try to find a small number of keywords that accurately describe your product, you will find out pretty quickly whether your site will convert into trials for your product (I'm assuming you're offering a trial). If you aren't getting trials, then you need to figure out why. Are you solving a real problem? Does your landing page do a poor job of converting? If you do get trials, do any of these people turn into paying customers or do they churn? If they do churn, try to find out why and fix it. If you discover that your product fills a real need, over time you will want to build yourself an audience of people by offering valuable content in the space your product is in. This will help to lower your overall customer acquisition cost but you first need to know (as quickly as possible) whether people will even buy your product in the first place or whether you are not solving a large enough problem that people will pay a recurring fee for.

    You can use some lead generation software. I especially use softwares that extract data on social media websites as data are more accurate and up to date.

    Last year I worked at Growbots.co - I suggest you test their CRM. It does magic compared to when I was still there. Extremely efficient.

    @Kevin We automated the lead generation process. So, here's what we do:

    1. We scrapped (hold on, there's something at the end for you) from around the web and built a list of target companies.

    2. We then built a script that takes in the target titles of people you are interested in & finds such people in each of these companies (from the scrapped list and if we don't find it there, we run a search from within LinkedIn)

    3. Once such a list with company names and people is ready, we run email permutations for them, check against two really sturdy email finder scripts and build a list complete with contact information.

    This reduced our lead generation time per day from 8 hours to about 1 hour.

    We're now integrated these scripts as a part of PipeCandy (http://pipecandy.com). We're inviting a few beta users. Happy to have a conversation if this would solve your problem.

    There's definitely some great lead gen software out there, but I've found that there's no substitute for hiring someone dedicated to curating highly accurate, customized lead lists specific to your company.     Hey Kevin, I have been working to generate leads for our company also. So far we have got data from Builtwith. You can have a look at that. We paid $295 and got lots of raw contacts (You can export as much as you want). Now I'm working with Freelancers to get the accurate email id's.

    Some tools you can try are found.ly or socedo.com.

    Organic way is definitely the best way to go about it but it takes time. Few of the faster ways are to use PPC ads and lead generation software. You can test out a few of them and stick to the that best suits you.

    Not sure what type of SaaS company you have but recommend using SimilarTech.com which let's you investigate which web-based platforms are used by each site across the web and also enables you to generate lists of leads with email adresses based on your search. You can also profile the type of client you want, category, location, etc so it'll help you produce a valuable list of potential leads. Let me know if you try it.

    You should try to combinate a software that extract data on professionnal social media like Datananas (affiliated) and combine it with a CRM to export all your data. It will permit you to lauch mailing campaign that you can customized.

    You can get actual emails of people working in any organization, also verify so you will be 100% sure that you are contacting right person.

    I am going to suggest a couple of golden oldies and a newbie...When I was cold calling b2b we used to use dun and bradstreet which holds businesses data, like sector and sometimes spend of companies. Alternatively, there should be a national archive which you can get access to if you are in the UK that would be The British Library. Basically, you need to search for an online business database that will allow you to filter companies, the ideal decision maker and contact details which you can then import to do your outreach campaign. Hoovers, as well as Dun & Bradstreet plus any competitors should be a good start.

    Now for the newbie...Try buzzstream.com (no affiliate) you can type in the keywords of your choice or which closely matches your persona and it will list the websites and contacts broken which you can further filter.

    One of the ways we grew our SAAS startup in the begining (without email marketing spam and that type of lead generation) was more of a SEO approach to things. We started off blogging as does everybody, we did some guest blogging, we posted on forums (joined conversations), we responded to questions about competitors and the like. We tried to start a conversation with potential readers about who we are, and what makes us different.

    Right now we do use email marketing, but only to existing users .. I'm not a firm believer in the whole cold-calling style email bombs.

    Go on Twitter, search for who's bitching about the problem you solve and then DM them. And it's not spam if it's SUPER FRIENDLY and the email you send them is conversational instead of you trying to give them a sales pitch.

    Organic leads convert best. Since you are pressed for time (since you say that you will run out of cash), the current best strategy is email leads. Generating email leads depends on the industry you are present. So without know the industry, i can suggest that you will need to either buy leads or figure a growth hack to get these leads. Try hard enough, i assure you there is a solution. Good luck.

    Clearbit seems to be pretty promising. You can do hyper focuses searches for various different keywords. Also has a pretty cool gmail extension for finding almost anyone's email.

    Hey Kevin! Hate to be self promoting, but this question came across my feed at the right time, since we're looking for some feedback on a free product that we have.

    I suggest you hire a VA to collect the leads for you. let's say you have a plan and you know where your leads are handing out online. example: Restaurants.
    You ask your assistant to search through Yelp for restaurant in your targeted area. make a sheet of decision makers, emails, company names etc. and use an email marketing campaign on something like reply.io or outreach.io build a sequences of email automation with follow ups.
    Then IMPROVE from the results you get from those analytics. This is just an example. but you can be more creative or invest more money on tools that can generate leads for you such as zoominfo or Linkedin Sales Navigator(Both platforms are different and zoominfo is extremely expensive.} You get your database from those platforms then put it on execution with an email sequences and automations.

    You’re absolutely right – manually creating a list of potential prospects is time consuming.

    The quickest way to start generating leads now is to purchase an email list that’s targeted to your buyer persona.
