    Does social paid advertising count as other assets? I use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest all the time for retargeting and get great results.

    If you are able to capture someone's contact information I also recommend email engagement - it is a great way to nurture leads and/or recapture abandoned carts.

    You can have access to a lot of data if you invest time/$ in lead enrichment, and then you'd be able to use other channels rather than banners.
    However, retargeting seems to be under fire, since browser's development has been aiming to prevent advertisers from having access to these data...

    Thanks both. Yes and I feel with GDPR it may only get worse. I'm curious how that will affect retargeting off of interactions like video views.

    Hey, video ads retargeting worked very well for us before- so did dynamic (product catalog). Examples: offering discounts (e-commerce), inviting them for a webinar/download a white book/ free trial (b2b and saas), start using now - no more excuses (apps). What was very important for us was. What matters the most is that you have a clear retargeting strategy and distinctive events associated with your FB pixels (for example, alternatively, you could also have a good url structure that indicates a stage of the funnel). Try to build a retargeting strategy connected with customer lifecycle. However, if you share some details about your product, I am happy to discuss this further. Cheers
