    Hey Chris,
Normally I don't speak for myself and our agency but I do believe that www.growthrocks.com is one of the best agencies out there having a number of passionated growthhackers of all levels and expertise. We run many companies around the globe from our offices all over and also remotely. We have few things very unique: a) we always undertake an engagement for limited time (per assignment) and b) we have a unique expertise in building referral programs for organic growth. This is done via a dedicated awesome team that is now a separated incorporation named www.viral-loops.com. At first, we did it to cover the demand and it resulted to Be VC backed and a spin-off (thus the growth hacking way) :-)

Hey Chris, I give advice around Marketing & Growth Hacking. If you want to learn more, you can read my blog: www.pierrelechelle.com

I explored the possibilities of opening an agency and it didn't necessarily make sense. I'd be happy to give you some more information on that point.

Growth Hacking is often at the limit with the product. The product is generally controlled internally in startups. Meaning that to be effective, you'd have to touch directly to the product, which is not envisageable for startups.

Building an agency for "Customer Acquisition", would be a viable option. However, it's not purely Growth Hacking anymore.

Besides all this, many founders believe that Growth Hacking & Marketing must be completed internally and are not so keen on incorporating external resources.

Pierre, being able to directly touch the product is important.

However there could be a lot of value in bringing in external advice for startup founders on growth hacking. What do you think about that?

    Hi Chris!!

There are few agencies that can help you, including mine (www.avanzagrowth.com).

There is a lot of value external growth hacking consultants can bring to your company.

I do not think though it should be a long term solution.

If the growth hacking efforts are working the next step is either hire a growth hacker for your company or offer the growth hacking agency to get involved with your company.

A growth hacker puts his or her soul in growing companies. Look for someone with passion that loves your product.

Let me know if you need more advice on growth hacking and all the best!

Hey Chris, having build and managed multiple products myself, I realized growth hacking is just about identifying different ways to go about improving your user metrics. It should impact at least one point of user journey - awareness, acquisition, engagement or retention.

So, the more people who can observe existing product assets - such as website, web app, mobile app, landing pages - more ideas/gaps can be discovered.

The internal team always get limited with bandwidth and most importantly with a biased view towards the product.

Keeping that in mind, I thought of converting this concept to a platform called http://uxhack.co - where an invite based community of people will suggest inputs on products in a private mode. So, you can try this out if it works for you. Let me know in case you need any more information.

Hola Chris, check out http://growthtribe.io/. They provide in-house training and courses. In my view, developing growth competencies (and mindset!) is something that you should aim to develop at your core team. Therefore I always prefer training/coaching to outsourcing. Many accomplished growth hackers do "afternoon gigs", so you also might want to consider inviting an industry expert to work with your team part-time. Happy growing!

Chris, I heard a lot of good things about Rainmakers, but I have to say that our agency http://kickassgrowth.com has different approach. We are focused more on hiring a growth team than the agency. You get a team that is committed to your product and has the knowledge of your niche, so you have a feeling like they are in-house.

    Hi Chris!

I'm not normally one for self promotion, but I figured I would mention us www.buildabigidea.com!

My team and I have been working privately for a number of large firms, and recently started actively taking on other clients. A big part of what makes us different is that we provide not only the "standard" growth hacking strategies, but we also create powerful engagement campaigns that are a hybrid of SEO, Social, and Organic, and work with our clients to identify highly-specific audiences. Our average client ROI right now is right around 10x on their marketing spend! We offer a free 45 minute strategy session (with no obligation), and dive right in. If you want to take advantage, visit www.buildabigidea.com/work-with-us/ :)

    I Run A Consulting Agency.
I agree with many of the comments above.
A great long-term asset is an internal growth hacker to work for your business.
Unfortunately these are rare because the skillet not only allows for rapid business growth but rapid agency growth.
You won't be able to hold onto a growth hacker internally without spending ridiculous amounts of money to keep them happy.
Salaries anywhere from 300,000-600,000 depending on revenue is a good starter.

    Hi Chris
Think I may be a little late to the party :-) . There are some very good big agencies listed on this page. And the list of Growth Hacking Agencies by Andy Jones are some of the "heavy hitters" in the business.
To say which one is the best agency I believe is a difficult question because you could only really decide that if you worked with all of them. What would be the criteria? Best results? One to One relationship? Service Levels? Cost? ROI?.

Having been on the other side of the table i.e client side as a buyer of services on some very large campaigns I can say that all of those criteria are important and I went through some impressive pitch processes. Ultimately the personal relationship with the agency was a major factor and not only the agency that got the best results.

May I take this opportunity to humbly introduce my "boutique" Growth Hacking Agency called Growth Hakka. Please check us out and I hope you agree we come across a little different to all the other options listed on this page.

    Hi Chris,

    Great post!
I'm the founder of https://www.growthagency.co/. we focus on helping corporates grow like startups. Our main focus would be running growth experiments for these corporates. This includes SEO, content marketing, marketing automation, CRO etc. We always work together with our clients for longer periods, so we can really become a part of their team.

We try to include their own employees as much as possible, from the experimentation phase until the implementation of successful experiments. All our info is shared with our clients in a Growth Playbook, so that the intelligence stays in their company and they can build on our experiments even after we would stop working for them.

We're a lean & mean team of 5 core people and 12 freelancers, working remotely from London, Malta and Antwerp mostly. We have a strong focus on data and technical implementation and we don't only touch marketing strategy, but also business strategy.

It would be nice to chat with other agency founders, so you can always get in touch with me via our website!

    Cheers
    Eveline
