Ask GH: Now that StackLead is gone, what other tools will tell you who is on your email list?
I particularly liked their spreadsheet functionality: Insert my email list into a spreadsheet and it populates it with all their details. Would love to find something similar.
Stacklead is definitely missed. While their spreadsheet hack was the best thing they ever did (attention-wise). Just used their API; similar should be possible w/ other APIs. As I told @ryangum on Twitter, make a spreadsheet like StackLead's, but where you can swap out APIs, and make it public (behind a form) & you'll win the Internet.
Some alternatives that have been mentioned (by @lukethomas and @osmnshkh specifically) on Twitter:
https://mailmatch.io/ <== looks very promising for bulk (like the Stacklead Spreadsheet "hack")
Obviously there are a lot of other ways to get contact info, like:
A super-lightweight API + a Google Spreadsheet was just the type of awesome we needed. RIP StackLead.
What else you got?
Thanks for your support, Lincoln. Mailmatch is actually powered by Clearbit and the team is rapidly building out other features like a Google spreadsheet integration. I'd definitely keep an eye on Alex (https://twitter.com/maccaw).
Great working together :-)
Hi guys, Robin from Hulimail here. I'd second the original list of four above. Clearbit and Fullcontact both have great APIs (I use them both for Hulimail), clearbit has a companies API as well if you need that data.
Hulimail displays leads in a dashboard which you can search (keyword and location) and sort, just paste in the emails you want research on and let it go. Or, connect to Mailchimp and it'll load your subscribers from there and email you with research as you get new signups.
If any growthhackers want to give it a go I'm letting people into the beta right now, you can signup here https://hulimail.com/CreateAccount/beta. You get your first 30 emails free, if you need some more to properly evaluate it just let me know email@example.com
Awesome Robin, checking it out now.
I've been looking into this recently and the 2 solutions I found so far:
neither are free.
Love to see other suggestions.
We've just released out Google Sheets integration. If you miss StackLead's Google Sheets it's a good alternative.
Well @maccaw ... I believe you win the Internet, then. Nice work!
Aha! This looks like what I was looking for. Nice work Alex.
Clearbit (https://clearbit.co/) also seems to offer a similar service. Haven't used it myself though. Not a free service either.
Hello all, this was a great discussion. I'm the founder of Vibe and we have built an alternative for Stacklead. Please try out http://vibeapp.co/lead_research. Let me know any feedbacks that you may have. TIA.
Ark has an api
Awesome @shanac ... hadn't heard of Ark before.
i use it as a rapportive replacement since rapportive got sucky
@shanac: does the plugin in Chrome really work? thanks!
I'd like to throw what I've been working on into the mix along with the other excellent alternatives. It has a lot of overlap with what Stacklead provided. Feel free to check it out at http://www.audienceowl.com/ and shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to check it out. It's almost ready to go and has a lot of things baking in the labs.
If you are using Mailchimp, they have Social Pro built in. Just have to pay a small fee.
We use MightySignal.com at Bizible.com to tell us what technologies our leads are using.
