Ask GH

This question is via @nilanp based on his comment on this discussion. He specifically asked if anyone split tests features / measure the viral WoM co-eff and develops non-hacky features (i.e. product wow type features) - that drive growth?

At my company, Flow, we have quarterly (roughly) "Delight Day"s, where marketers, designers, and developers spend the entire day adding or building experiments around in-product delighters. The idea formed after we all watched Kevin Hale's Stanford lecture on building products people love.

MailChimp definitely comes to mind. Their app is peppered with high-fives and little hidden games and fun copywriting. They send you a free t-shirt when you switch from free to paid, and they're basically obsessed with all sorts of quirky fun things.
