    I've had great results with Sponsored Updates to generate leads. I've spend a LOT of money on there and tested many different thing. But in the end for us the best thing was to push an ebook. That generated the most number of leads.

    However this is highly dependant on your product, I'm sure. The product I sold was a SaaS product that required an advanced level of knowledge before the prospect would ever buy (typically aimed at the mid-level and/or enterprise). So in our case, we needed to educate our audience further and dramatize the painpoints before they could become a customer. With post-download nurture flows, you then help guide the prospect to a mindset where they're open to buy.

    We have good results when we promote business events or informational downloads

    I've had success at Captora using LinkedIn paid campaigns to promote webinar registrations. Also, a SaaS product, but aimed at content/demand gen marketers. People use LinkedIn as a forum for asking questions and if the ad presents an answer to a question before they ask it (good segmentation targeting) then we've found a successful formula there.
