I've found this old 2012 post on conversion and saw this number. Our numbers are significantly low, and I remember seeing other refs for 2%. Does my site (or the traffic) sucks? this is the ref: https://www.marketingsherpa.com/article/chart/average-website-conversion-rates-industry

    Comparing conversion rates can be tough. It depends on your market size, LTV, the channels you market on, how targeted your leads are, and a million other variables. If you are in a small market with low LTVs, then yes - 2% might be low. At CareGuide - our conversion rate from SEO is only 2%. But the market is massive, and the opportunities to improve that are endless. On the other hand, some of our BD channels have conversion rates north of 15%.

    I think this is where Eli Goldratt, author of The Goal, would talk about not focusing on local minima/maxima.

    As Ali Dinani mentioned, comparing can be tough and comparing local min/max is definitely not a good idea. For us at http://manifest.ly, if we had a 7% conversion (visitor to customer) we'd definitely feel we weren't spending enough time/money on new visitor traffic. For us, and many other general purpose tools that span many industries/processes, a 2% is very reasonable.
