Does video content really pay off for ecommerce or it just a fad?

I mean watching a video may be distracting when you actually want to buy something.

In the worst case stores send off visitors to YouTube.

Good list and great examples. Thank you for sharing!

Even though they sound like common sense most brands still neglect them.

The broadcasting model never worked on social media.

Without genuine engagement and involvement it does not work.

Apparently Wish is huge by now but I never even heard of them.

Thank you for pointing out that success story.

Sadly I can't even view the site without signing up.

I launched a user acquisition course in partnership w/ GrowthX, a venture capital fund. this course teaches everything i know about growth, which have led me to run multiple million+ sales SaaS platforms including Fomo.com.

my thesis for students: you can build a multi million dollar SaaS company with just a couple hundred visitors per day.

it's all about how you acquire those visitors, and whether they match your target audience. i call this audience your RCP, or "Realistic Customer Profile," instead of the commonly used ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) which is often far-reaching.

the course is composed of 8 modules:

1. Identifying your Target Audience
2. Paid Acquisition
3. Organic Acquisition
4. Analytics
5. Partnerships and Referrals
6. Technical Marketing (SQL, Web scraping, JavaScript event tracking, etc)
7. Competitive Strategy
7. Conversion Rate Optimization

each module has ~10+ lectures and 2-4 exercises, which are essentially marketing campaigns.

students who complete the exercises earns instant cash back from their tuition. i believe that the more you learn, the less you should pay.

here's a link to the course, which only opens enrollment once per 3 months:

I am a big fan of proactive outbound onboarding. Customers with problems using the product will churn before reaching out, but if reached out to, they can be made happy and retained. It surprised me with the frequency I would hear from customer support, "they said they were planning on canceling".
