The reality is that they were built from the ground up by many dedicated people committed to taking a new idea and making it feel as though the world could not live without it.

We at WhyHotel are carving out our own industry-changing company starting by making pop up hotels a thing. We are bringing flexibility to the most inflexible asset ever: high-rise real estate. We’re using our current platform as the springboard to further blur the line between hospitality, home, and work. Our vision is to build the engine that makes real estate better, smarter, and more flexible for consumers, developers, investors, and cities alike.

With 4 hotels and growing, WhyHotel has secured around $15M in venture-financing in less than 18 months and is poised to scale. YOUR MISSION You are the full stack developer for WhyHotel’s website and integrator of data between the many 3rd-party SaaS technologies that WhyHotel uses. You proactively enable our team drive higher booking conversions through a conversion focused website.

YOUR LEGACY You’ll have left WhyHotel better than you found it by implementing and improving upon the technology systems needed to give our guests the best stay possible while empowering our team to efficiently do their jobs. You led WhyHotel’s journey to become the PropTech company it’s destined to be.

YOUR CHARGE (WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING) Over the first 4 weeks -Learn WhyHotel, our team, and our systems through self-study and interviewing team members. -Understand the WhyHotel customer experience and how the team is gathering and using data in their day-today. -Digest WhyHotel’s technology stack and diagnose gaps in systems and processes. Over the first 3 months -Learn the ins and outs of WhyHotel’s new direct booking engine and determine a testing plan and improvement areas. -Collaborate with marketing team to implement testing tools for our website. -Begin to build out a CRM that pulls from the API of our PMS (Property Management System).

Ongoing -Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to optimize our website for booking conversions and SEO. -Enable WhyHotel’s systems to be testing-friendly. -Manage all technical aspects of the hospitality side of the business.Ensure our teams have access to the clean data they need to do their jobs. -Own ongoing development of the WhyHotel website in support of the marketing and hospitality teams. -Proactively manage all tech platforms and relationships to minimize downtime.

HOW YOU’LL GO ABOUT IT -You hear and see yourself in more of our core values than not. And you’re really excited to live by them. -5+ years in growth marketing, growth hacking, front-end web development, or engineering role. -You are a creative thinker who can look at a large problem through various lenses and perspectives, and present clever solutions to arrive at the end goal. -You are a clear communicator who can efficiently and effectively move information up, down, and across the chain of command. -You are a technology generalist. You have the experience to know what needs to happen in order for systems to work together seamlessly, and you’ll guide the WhyHotel team through the technological growing pains of scaling. -You’re a project management wizard who can take something from idea to implementation while staying on-budget and within the agreed-upon timeline.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW Start Date: June/July 2019 -Salary: Salary commensurate with experience - please be sure to tell us your salary expectations in our application. -Benefits + Perks: We match up to 100% of every dollar you contribute to our 401(k) up to 4%. You’ll get shares in the company after your first quarter. We offer medical, dental, and vision coverage.
