About The Hustle

The Hustle is a fast-growing, San Francisco-based media company best known for its witty, no-nonsense newsletters that have entertained and educated readers since 2015.

We grew to about 100k email subscribers just through events and blogging, and ramped up to over 1 million subscribers with grit, some paid marketing, and high-quality content.

Now we're looking to bring on a senior growth marketer to build out a scalable strategy to help us hit our ambitious goals, both in terms of additional newsletter growth, as well as to help with the launch of new products for our entrepreneurial audience.

About the role:

Your objective is to help us continue our explosive growth while maintaining an engaged user base.

You'll have full access to the data around at what we’ve used to grow so far, and then invest heavily in the channels that work best while discovering new areas of acquisition.

The Hustle is completely changing how digital media brands make money and thrive. And you, as one of our early senior hires, will put your touch on that.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build and lead an efficient, hungry, creative, data-driven growth team
  • Manage a growing acquisition budget with heavy emphasis on Facebook
  • Understand CPC/CPA strategies and experiment with additional acquisition channels
  • Analyze retention and engagement of various acquisition channels and their impact on overall list health
  • Organize, execute, and measure growth marketing experiments
  • Understand SEO and winning tactics and use learnings to advise our editorial and tech teams
  • Devise creative tools to help our users share more
  • Use our massive library of existing content to drive traffic from search and social
  • Increase the conversion on our website blog
  • Set and execute on extremely ambitious growth targets
