Thanks for sharing Ross.
I believe social media is a great place to start. Many people take to platforms for their specific needs, like checking Twitter for the latest news or an influencer on Instagram for the hottest item of the season. This blog post explains in more details a few other places to seek or start your research.
Awesome case study!
So many ICOs launching these days and such a straight-forward piece of software to just plug in and run your referral marketing with is quite handy and pretty much a necessity.
Glad to see ICOs refining their go-to market strategy.

Well, if you are looking for the cheapest way to build a website, you can choose one of the free website builders, but they usually have the limited features. Also I recommend to take a look at the latest projects like https://snowfox.tech , they seem to be pretty simple at first sight, but they can attract a large audience due to a new direction in website building. Hopefully, this information will be useful for you!
I think the folks at Hotjar did this pretty well. They've written about it extensively here: https://www.hotjar.com/blog/2016/01/12/the-hotjar-story-part-1-from-idea-to-60000-beta-signups-in-6-months/.
TL;DR: they came out of nowhere a few years back and have the one of the largest (or maybe even largest?) customer base through good marketing in my opinion.
Interesting stuff here! Thank you for sharing.
Totally. I don't think the article is arguing that anyone will see this level of success, guaranteed. These are just well-known and easy case studies to follow.
Some great examples listed here. I just wonder whether it works for mere mortals as well, after all PayPal, Tesla, Uber etc. are pretty large household names by now. Their success is not only due to a referral program.
