Video does not have to be expensive. Just look at the series that Sandwich did with Wisitia creating videos with budgets of 1,000 - 10,000 and 100,000. They did a whole series on it: https://wistia.com/series/one-ten-one-hundred
Also, the way that networks prioritize video over other content means that video has a higher visibility for good ROI.
