The era of SaaS 3.0 is here -- and that means you can't just compete on features anymore. Why? Well we consumers aren't idiots -- we can get most of the information we need before ever having to talk to a sales team, and 99% of the features across products today are well, the same. Here's David Cancel on why this is the case, and what to do about it.

Agreed. Even if you're ahead on features, it's easy for competitors to catch up. You have to find other ways to stay ahead. I'd add that your customer support plays an important part in this as well.

This article is funny in the sense that when we were trying to figure out what live chat to use for our course launch, I chose Drift.

When my business partner asked me why that one, my answer was I just felt better about it than intercom and other alternatives. I couldn't explain why though.

It shows that they practice what they preach. It's not just about the product but the feeling you get when doing business with a company. Drift has done a great job at building their brand through content and getting to interact with their team.
