We're all used to thinking in terms of the funnel: AARRR but we know deep down that they're oversimplified. So what do we do about it and is this simple model keeping us from growing our business?
Thanks Danavir! Glad you liked it.
Love this idea. It's not surprising we simplify things, and I think it's beneficial to do so sometimes (Like you quoted, “All models are wrong, but some are useful.”).
But this tornadoes concept is enlightening, and I think more accurate most of the time.
Agreed. Linear funnels aren't dead, but using them is certainly something optimizers should be doing with great care.
Really looking forward to everyone's opinion on this topic. Are linear funnels a thing of the past?
Great read and a similar concept to a model we created for our company.
We call it decerrs (pronounced like all hands on deccers) and we created it as a compliment to the pirate metrics as a growth planning tool.
It stands for:
Discovery, Exploration, Conversion, Experience, Retention, Revenue, and Shareability (The Network Effect)
