Marketers possess knowledge of their companies, marketing strategy, psychology, and conversion rate optimization - yet the chances of a marketer creating a winning version of an A/B test is about 10-15% of the time.

But why?

Because the secret to creating a winning A/B test is all in the process. It isn't about updating photos, videos, or colors - it's about understanding why and how your ideal customers do or don't take action.

So if you want to win at A/B testing all of the time, talk to your customers.

I think it's super to admit to failure - I'd have loved even more to get more detail into the mistakes.

I think we learn more from mistakes than success imho.

Also I would suggest that the real underlying reason for the initial failure is a lack of critical thinking.

Why did tactics a,b,c work for these other folks? That's what gets ignored... because we're always upvoting the latest case study or tactic that generated 11x returns in half the time...
