    I definitely agree that growth is getting hard. But it has gotten progressively harder over the last 20 years that I've worked on growing businesses.

    I think a value based approach is key today. Value is critical for both retention and referral. Unfortunately creating value in the first place is really hard. So when you have it, you need to understand truly it. This will allow you to set the right promise and then work quickly to deliver value based on that promise. If you do this effectively, you'll have a fighting chance dealing with the challenges that Andrew outlines in his essay.
