Why is growth hacking even important? Why is that the solution?
The more innovative your product, the more innovative your marketing needs to be.
I really agree with "Your product demands innovative mediums to grow" which can be seen in many other high growth companies, like Tesla. Good post!
@justinmares Thanks! And yes, Tesla has decided to sell their cars directly to consumers with an "Apple store" type feeling where they control the entire message versus using 3rd parties aka dealerships.
In the same industry, I'd love to see the numbers from CarMax on how their shift in "medium" by allowing car buyers a 5-day window to return the car for a full refund has worked out. As is shown time and time again, people value what they have more, so I'd hypothesize allowing people to "have the car risk-free" converts quite well, plus provides trust in an often salesy environment.
Hey @morgan thanks for adding the article Casey so kindly wrote aboard Startup Ship. If you'd like to know more about the Portuguese Startup scene just let me know :)
@morgan - Thanks for submitting my post.
If anybody has questions, please let me know. As many of the must-read GrowthHackers case studies show, WOM is such a powerful channel for growth, but it's interesting to look at the innovative mediums that these companies use for initial and scalable traction.
I just found out that there are agencies that are specialized on WOM marketing. Pretty interesting.
Interesting analyses of Airbnb and Uber. I wonder if one can conclude that with the right network effect and word of mouth, advertising (banners, search engine links, tv, radio, etc) becomes absolutely irrelevant, ever. Can one so conclude, @CaseyA? Thanks.
