It’s no secret that the topic of web accessibility is on a meteoric rise. Thousands of lawsuits and tens of thousands of demand letters served to small business owners (but not just them, see Dominos’ supreme court ruling), have driven an increase of over 400% in Google searches for an ADA and WCAG compliant solution, from Jan 2019 to Dec 2019.

As of December 2019, accessiBe has fully scanned, analyzed and remediated tens of thousands of websites. Some of which are their clients (10,000 today) and others are websites they scan, analyze and remediate as part of training their AI.

All in all, they have just hit 10,000,000 analyzed pages, and it’s time to spread some knowledge and share the data!

Thanks for sharing this. I know I do my best to keep my own site compliant (at least as much as I can do for now). I know this is important and definitely a lot to take into consideration. Quite a bit of useful info here. Interesting stats.

Hi Erk, Thank you for sharing about the stats of all the websites results to be complaint. It's good to know what areas need to be worked so we can check our own websites out too and help guide others. It's important to get our websites complaint in 2020. Hard to believe so many have a lot of work ahead of them as well.

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) is something all website owners and bloggers need to become familiar with.

It's amazing how many websites are not accessible!

I was sure that mine are... but after reading this, I am going to get one of my blind friends to check things out for me.
Thanks for opening my eyes to this!

Wow - the lack of compliance is all very worrying for micro-businesses like mine.

I wonder if some of the larger WordPress theme developers are aware of this, and working with AccessiBe?

Thanks for sharing these alarming statistics.

    Hello Erik,

In the past couple of years, I have checked so many websites but it's hard to find out if a website's WCAG 2.1 AA - Compliant or not. The study brings out many things into the light.

The presence of the Nav tag is usually ignored by many because most website owners don't have technical knowledge. I am glad to see that Shir mentioned such details.

    Thanks for sharing with us.

    Enjoy your day!
