Hey Erik! Fabulous share from Sam Hurley!

I have to say, to read this inspiration first thing on a Monday morning is superb! Being a visual person myself, I can relate to the Oreo idea.... or maybe Doritos? ;) Stepping out of the norm and into something not exciting but exhilarating could make or break your product! It's all in the mindset of what target audience you want to attract, no? I love the idea of idea clouds. I use them quite frequently at my full-time job and really should incorporate into my side hustle. Thanks for the fabulous tips! I'm bookmarking for future reference.

P.S. Doritos are definitely your gig, hahaha! :D

I relate to brands like RedBull, being an adventurous guy. :)
And I like to consume (moderately) their products too. It amazed me the number of cans Red Bull sold in 2017: 6 billion! :O
Loved the suggestions in Sam's post: think and becomes "Useful & Interesting".
Thanks for sharing your views, Bren!

Be useful and interesting. Duh! Of course, these two things are key components of ANY marketing strategy... or they should be!

I also particularly like the list of many ideas for content idea generation! As a blogger and a writer, I LOVE lists like this (even though I never have a problem finding ideas about what to blog/write about).

    Nice share, Erik. :)

"Be useful and interesting": they looks basic rules, but often they are really hard to apply. Most of all, on challenging topics.

Yep — The amount of times I see failed attempts through lack of research. Audience, audience, audience ... That's all that matters when it comes to content. 'Useful + Interesting' follows naturally, if presentation is appealing. 😎

I think if you can create a picture with words you can hold an audience's attention. Thanks to Sam for these fabulous examples.

    Hey Erik,

It's a vital thing to focus on. Most of the content producers try to leverage it with some quantitative products, but the usefulness of the content is essential.
People are looking for something reliable, which can be trusted to its core.

    Hi Erik,

You always share the awesome content and now, this time too. Thanks for sharing Sam's post with the community. It was an interesting read and I have learned something new related to the content writing and marketing.

I agree, no one read the boring content and hence, it is indeed needed for the bloggers, businesses and digital marketers to write the useful stuff and create a memorable name in the readers' mind.

Sam has shared 3 great ideas and I would like to follow them. I always brainstorm my ideas to write the in-depth matters and improve the topical authority.

Interesting take on focusing on usefulness that then drives interest. I believe sometimes, we as marketers, can get extremely myopic about the way we go about churning out potentially high conversion content. It's essentially a "perspective warp" that can be hard to break out of, especially when you've gotten used to a particular modus operandi and comfortable SOP.

Certainly helps to think out of the box. I'll be sure to give this approach a whirl soon! Thanks for sharing!

    • SH

Thanks for reading & leaving your awesome feedback here, Pradyut! 😎😊😎

Yes, yes, YES! You hit the nail on its head ... Getting stuck in a 'boring' frame of mind is never good (for ANY element of business).

When it comes to content, it only exaggerates and expresses what employees / customers may feel!

All types of businesses can improve culture, brand positioning and marketing in quite a short space of time ... It just takes planning and a shift that derives from senior people. (If it can't for whatever reason, they need to try to understand and 100% trust the perception of the new, awesome content marketer they just hired!!).

      Enjoy experimenting, man! :)))
