Let’s talk about each step of this cycle, why it happens, and present a list of questions/provocations that might allow us to escape.
I've been having these conversations 1:1 with startups and teams, it's great that folks like Andrew are writing about how to break this cycle as well.
Interesting, thanks for this!
Thanks for sharing. A great point of view!
Well elaborated process for Product Relaunching. Third last para is best one.
Two interesting challenges I've seen implementing this as we build out Chaino:
- Handling users' expectations: Once you create channels of communication between you and users, it sets the expectation that their feedback will be incorporated - and quickly! You need to communicate honestly and quickly what you will take on and what isn't within your design philosophy. A lot of times, you'll need to explain your decision.
- Handling builders expectations: It's really tough explaining to the development team the logic behind the product roadmap; why a feature that isn't requested is extremely important while another that some users are vocally asking for will take us off-track.
This article will really help to explain things!
