Just like when you want to write copy for an advertisement, when doing content marketing it is crucial, to begin with, a stunning, attention-grabbing headline. According to David Ogilvy: “on average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. If you haven’t done some selling in your headline, you have wasted 80 percent of your client’s money.” That was of course before the GIF arrived ;-) Still, headlines are as important as ever, email subject lines, social shares, etc. This article learns you how to create awesome converting headlines for your business!

It's almost gut-wrenching how much a headline effects an article's performance. You can write the most comprehensive, incredible post in the world - but if your headline sucks, good luck getting anyone to click on it! ;) Great tips!

I really like the David Ogilvy quote

“on average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. If you haven’t done some selling in your headline, you have wasted 80 percent of your client’s money.”

This makes a lot of sense! I your headlines doesn't peak the interest of your audience, then you just lost at least 80% of their money. I definitely can account to this as I go through articles.

    Thanks for the tips here!
