Online accounting is a growing market, with multiple players battling for their cut. This week’s Pricing Page Teardown features a head-to-head between an incumbent, Intuit’s QuickBooks Online, and an upstart, New Zealand-based Xero. ProfitWell’s Patrick Campbell and Peter Zotto look at data collected from 16,434 QBO and Xero customers and reveal that both companies may be overstepping the boundaries of willingness to pay in some areas, while leaving money on the table in others. And, design matters more than you may think.

      Team design for sure. I was a little surprised at how much design plays into the WTP of the software. But I suppose if looks nice and is easier to use, you're more likely to want to use it!

        Looks can take you a decent chunk of the way there, but in pricing, as in life, looks *can* be deceiving.

        Feel like a lot of times it's more about UX (a bit semantic, I know :)). There are a lot of little pot holes or wins through adding essential pieces (or subtracting them) from your design.
