Doesn’t it seem strange that talking to users is so blatantly important yet so many companies are doing an very poor job of it? A live chat on your landing page can increase your conversion rate for initial buy-ins, questionnaires and surveys will help you unlock the core unique value that your best users see in your product, in-app messaging can help you trigger feature notifications at the best possible times and smooth conference calling may help you concierge onboard an important client and create relationships.

Ha! Pretty link baity title. First sentence of article is "unless you want to succeed."

Anyway, link baity title got me to click. Was wondering what someone's argument could possibly be for not talking to customers.

Thought the exact same thing. I was actually hoping to see someone expand on the argument that people like Steve Jobs often used for listening to your customers, but don't listen too much.

Aw man, @DavidArnoux I typically like your stuff, so you can do better than this clickbait title :) Nice tips though - could you share a rough idea of the cost for Clicktale? Even order of magnitude would help, I didn't see a pricing page on their site so I'm assuming it's in the 1000s per month range

Give Mouseflow a crack, it a fraction of the price of clicktale and almost exactly the same functionality. It's such a powerful tool for smaller business who aren't generating tonnes of traffic to see anything really useful from GA.

We use customer.io and really love it for things like retention and re-activation emails. I recommend checking them out.

If this weren't GH I probably wouldn't have clicked the link. Glad I did though, because there's some good stuff in there.

    Thanks!
