SEO is simply not as hard as people pretend like it is; you can get 95% of the effort with 5% of the work, and you absolutely do not need to hire a professional SEO to do it, nor will it be hard to start ranking for well-picked key terms. Of all the channels we’ll be discussing, SEO is the one that there is the most misinformation about. Some of it is subtle, but some of it is widely spread and believed by so-called SEO consultants who actually don’t know what they’re doing. SEO is very simple, and unless you’re a very large company it’s probably not worth hiring somebody else to do.

Good article. But time is money and having an SEO professional do this for you will save you time allowing you to concentrate on other areas of your business. Not only will hiring an SEO professional save your time but they will likely do a better than you - with no SEO expertise what so ever!

Indeed, A great piece of learning! Every step mentioned is important to understand , apply and thoroughly analyse to rank well. I truly agree that SEO is not hard if you have the right resources from where you can learn and implement.
However, I also believe that once the SEO is fixed, after some time when changes are required to be done the focus should not be bringing a drastic change, rather it should be on conducting an SEO Audit and fixing the issues which is effecting your site's ranking. This is a good way to update your site's SEO.

Let me know your thoughts on it.

    Hey Austin,
Nice detail here on how to leverage SEO. Yes it could be intimidating when you first become aware of it, but if you follow your tips here, then it shouldn’t be a problem. I actually use Long Tail Pro to find keywords and it has been quite helpful.
    thanks for sharing!

Super in-depth post with tons of detail! I like the fact you took the time to make your SEO more human and connection based. That is something I've been preaching for a while. I actually wrote a piece for Search Engine Land on the human side of SEO. http://searchengineland.com/human-side-seo-power-personas-255747

While I am an SEO, it's always nice to find great advice I can share with anyone wanting to tackle SEO on their own.
