I've spoken with a few dozen SEO consultants and marketers over the past month and many feel that voice search is going to be a big deal, within the next year or three at most. People construct searches differently when they're using voice as opposed to text, so this may have a big impact on creating new content and ranking existing pieces. Along the same lines, mobile-first indexing also appears to be a concern for some. If you don't know, Google plans to “eventually primarily use the mobile version of a site’s content to rank pages from that site, to understand structured data, and to show snippets from those pages in our results.” Although there's been no official word on a launch date, the potential impact is enough to get the attention of some very astute marketers. There's more in the post, but those were the two that really stood out for me. What do you guys think? Could voice search be a potential growth channel?
