One of the first things my boss told me at my first job in a big agency was, "Everyone hates pop ups, don't be that guy." I was also against pop ups because I thought they made brands look cheap - and who clicks on them anyway? But after observing how bloggers use them to capture e-mail subscriptions, I began experimenting with them. In this article I provide the conclusions I drew out of one year of experiments.
