Companies will no longer need to communicate with customers as an “average user”.

    This is a great read on the future of personalization. Beyond just knowing the type of content I like, understanding what can make me act is incredibly powerful.

    @eliamorling - I too had mixed feelings about the paragraph on AB testing.

    I agree that AB testing is a precursor to personalization, but even after you personalize the user's journey, you can still continue to AB test in order to make the personalization more relevant and effective.

    Yes and no.

    Until you have acquired and activated someone you will have too little data to personalize with. So it's not A/B OR personalization. It's A/B early and personalization later in a customer journey.

    I definitely agree that offering up A/B testing as a relic of the past is a little premature.
    I really liked the idea of gaining a deeper and deeper psychological understanding of the users preferences over time. Very interesting.
