The article examines how Saas startups use the "powered by" tactic:
Any stats about CTR levels for the "powered by" tactic?
Great question! Will ask @clementv to chime in :)
I'm also very interested in the CTR stats! That said, I just wanna add that the real benefit of the 'powered by' tactic is ALWAYS underrepresented in CTR levels. Because not everybody clicks- but most people at least notice.
Brand familiarity can make all the difference when the person is finally ready to make a purchase.
Hi @visakanv and @omrich,
sorry but obviously I couldn't get real figures for the CTR.
That said I could hear during several meetups that it was a great acquisition tactic for companies like Intercom, Workable and Olark (from people working there) but no precise number.
I'm not so sure that CTR is so relevant in this case anyway, I think it's like content marketing: when you see the powered by over and over again, next time you'll look for a tool you'll probably already have these ones in mind.
I doubt that the usual behavior is: "wow this widget looks awesome, let's click on the powered by link and register".
Yep, precisely. It's probably 80-90% about brand recall.
this is why I think that the "powered by" impact is better on widget with "wow effect". If you are impressed by the value it brings (and can relate to it) then suddently the "powered by" makes a lot of sense. Otherwise it will be perceived as ads.
Since when is Wistia a webinar SaaS?
sorry that's true. We're mainly using it for this kind of stuff.
Sorry, I couldn't resist pointing that out.
and you are 100% right :-)
