      Thanks Nick! Do you currently use any management tool to help you deal with all this content being planned, created, distributed, analyzed? I'm not talking about Marketing Automation Platforms such as Hubspot or Marketo, but something focused on the content?

    In my opinion content has value by itself. When it's only a product description it's rather packaging.

    Imagine a bottle - the liquid is the actual content - not the list of ingredients or the bottle label.

    Most ecommerce sites don't have any content when you apply that definition. In most cases even their packaging is rather low level.

    A guide, a how to video, a case study are content. A category page that just automatically lists all matching products is not.

      My points above are how to create a best in class category page, how to create blog posts, resource guides, and news/trending articles that support specific marketing activities that drive the points I clarified in the very beginning of the post.
