It’s not everyday that you meet someone who has built an entire business off the back of a community like reddit…and a 7-figure one at that. I got the chance to interview Sol Orwell, Founder of Examine.com, about the story behind his company. Sol walked us through the intricate details of how he recognized a pain point in the reddit fitness community and turned a simple idea into a site that attracts millions of visitors every year. Here’s his story.

    Hi @benjihyam,

It was inspiring interview of Sol Orwell.
Everybody likes to have huge no. of customers but it is very difficult to achieve. It takes years of hard work, perfect plan, good staff etc. to achieve what he has achieved in short time. His solid plan has helped him to get 6 Million reddit users, which is amazing to have for any business.
I like his idea about how he pointed out the key challenges and effective solution for each.
    Thanks for sharing with us.
    Regards,
    -Saurav

Of course. The big takeaways from interviewing Sol were that you have to be authentic, put in the hard work (ie. emailing hundreds of people manually), recognize real pains, and talk to your customers.
