Evernote provides a suite of products and merchandise aimed to help you better "collect and find everything that matters." Their multi-faceted product offering led to some unique onboarding challenges - there's lots to learn from with this one!
Great overview as always Samuel. It shows just how hard it can be to make a simple onboarding for a piece of software. Evernote can do so much, and has such a huge ecosystem, that it can be tough to keep focused on what matters at the very first time.
Thank you for saying so, Morgan! This was a fun one.
Thanks for adding my teardown here, Mark! If anyone has any questions, shoot!
Thanks Samuel, it was an awesome teardown
Nice share. Love this site :)
Pleasure, when is the book ready?
Not soon enough! I'm about halfway done.
Awesome, would love to read it! Is there a signup list somewhere I can join or a pre-order?
Yep! I really need to make a dedicated landing page sooner than later, but in the meantime, any of the posts at the bottom of the UserOnboard.com home page have signup forms.
Excellent point on the refer a friend program taking up prime real estate on the homepage, yet all the active users do not see the homepage often, if at all.
I didn't even know they had a referral program. And to be honest, I don't even know what Evernote Premium includes, and I'm a fairly active Evernote user
I love how granular this analysis of Evernote's onboarding is, I'm taking notes : )
Glad to hear it, Meagan!
