Listening to this interview, I learned some amazing strategies for content distribution that I've never implemented before - and I've been in the content marketing / growth game for a while.

Brian also says he's used these strategies to build his traffic to around 90,000 unique visits per month, when his original goal for December 2014 was 30,000.

His key takeaway is distribution, distribution, distribution: for every hour you spend writing content, you need to spend at least four in distribution. Personally, I'm excited to try this with some of my clients.

Brian's the man. I particularly love his Skyscraper Technique and his approach to the posts he publishes. Lots to learn from this interview.

This is a classic, Brian's enthusiasm, determination and curiousity to uncover what's working, what isn't and make smarter changes based on them is an example I think all marketers can learn from!

When it comes to link building....Brian Dean is definitely the go to guy. He sure knows what he is doing and how to get what he want.

His skyscraper technics for link building is a massive blow that really works, I read his blog regularly and could tell, Brian really knows how to build quality links.

20:80 - spending 80% on promoting your content. this might be the key beside great content. Which techniques would you all propose beside kind of cold emailing?

Yeah I'm a fan of that 80/20 rule too for content marketing, @mrtko!

Do you mean techniques for getting traffic to your blog? Or linking to your blog?

If you mean linking to your blog, then cold emailing is one of the best ways I feel. But you could also connect through LinkedIn of Twitter for outreach, but it's a little limited and you have to usually squeeze in a lot into a little. You could syndicate your content here on GrowthHackers if it fits, or Reddit.

Promotional tips I learned from @backlinko are to first finding where your audience shares things, like your Linkarati, and sharing your content where they will be most likely to consume it. Also, using something like BuzzSumo (http://buzzsumo.com) to find popular and highly shared content, you can reach out to people that shared that content via Twitter and tweet at them to share your content, these people are a highly targeted audience.

I also meant to say that there are probably plenty more awesome strategies that people here use. I'd love to hear about them too :-)

"Do you mean techniques for getting traffic to your blog? Or linking to your blog?"

The technique he spells out & explains step-by-step is cold emailing... which like you said, is a great way to build links (and traffic too, obviously).
