Andy John's ideas on building a growth model for your company to orient your whole company around growth.
Great article @mccannatron ! I learn something awesome every time I hear Andy Johns speak about growth. This write up is no exception.
Congrats too on the success of the growth community that you're building around Greylock. Hearing a lot of good buzz about it lately.
@sean Thanks for the kind words, learned a lot from Andy as well.
If you are ever in SF would love to have you come by and/or come to one of our next community events.
Great article - thought the Amazon example was a good illustration. Do you see more companies adding "growth teams" to their organization? Is this becoming the "norm" now to supplement marketing?
@allenburt I wrote this comment in a previous post on GH but here is a comprehensive but not complete list of companies that have at least one “growth” person in the company.
New Republic Labs
One Kings Lane
Safari Books Online
@mccannatron thanks for the extensive list - I see a couple of names that surprise me here.
Wow! Some really great stuff in this post! Thanks for sharing!
Great article there! Amazon use case is an awesome example here. Thanks for sharing other examples in the comments as well.
Fantastic breakdown of the growth model. Such a great point - way too many are going for acquisition (A) before they have a product that will retain the majority of them - i.e. B & C.
