Percolate's marketing department operates like a full stack creative team. It's split into three divisions – growth, product marketing, brand communications – and is supported by a dedicated team of communication designers and marketing engineers.
Since most of the Percolate marketing team is also a GH member, also happy to open this up and just turn this into an informal Percolate Marketing AMA
I love the transparency of this article @jasonshen and @chrisbolman. With 12 people on the marketing team and several open roles, I’m curious what that represents as a percentage of the overall company size. Also, do you think that companies that sell to marketers should have bigger marketing teams relative to companies that sell to other verticals?
With about 170 total people, our marketing team (13 currently) is 7.6% of the total. I'd be curious to know what the industry average is. And regarding the second point, I think the fact that we make marketing software doesn't really mean we ought to have a larger marketing team. Because our software is robust and our clients are typically senior marketers, we have pretty large sales and client solutions teams and marketing team in comparison is quite lean.
