Interesting read. TikTok relies heavily on UGC and I suppose that's where concerns regarding quality can come in after a point of time.
What clearly works for TikTok is the short video duration of 5-15 seconds. However, I'm not sure if "mimicry" as a content consumption is sustainable for longer periods of time. Viewer fatigue inevitably sets in, prompting eventual drop-offs and app abandonment.
