I hate to break it to you… but most people won’t finish reading your articles. And you probably won’t read this whole article either. We collected a bunch of data from my personal blog, and our SumoMe Stories to understand how many people will actually read the whole article (no one else has access to this information). What did we learn? Only 20% of readers finished our articles. Not only that, the average visitor would only read 25% of an article. Now you’re probably thinking, “That’s your problem! Why should I care?” Because chances are, your audience aren’t reading your whole articles either. This article will go over our findings from the audit, and action items we're currently implementing to try and fix it.

Really useful, thanks! We're about to launch our own blog, so this is really well-timed.

Really in-depth post. Loved the scroll box feature!

Great post. The fact that readers don't read more than 20% is well known in the PR world. That's why press releases are written to pack the most important info into the top one or two paragraphs.

Super interesting. Do you have a recommended read that expands on this?

Great article, Sumo Me have done so much to help people along the way. It's funny I really notice the difference between content and how much it gets me to read from having to do so much moderation.

Love that feedback Edward. Would love to get in touch with you :)

Thanks Kal!

Your post well very well thought through, thank you. I did find it funny myself that I too was tempted not to read the entire post because we are so use to quick grab attention posts that we can quickly absorb.

Can I get your feedback on the GIF in the intro? Thoughts on it? Did it do anything to you?
