I'm surprised mailchimp didn't make the list. Their hosted and embedded forms are pretty great and fully customizable.

Interesting, I've always liked Aweber's forms (though I haven't used them in a couple years).

Now that I'm a MailChimp fan, I've actually been disappointed in their forms. Happily most third-party forms easily integrate though.

I haven't tried Aweber. What do you think is lacking from MC's forms?

Aweber used to have dozens of different templates, and (as I recall) it was easy to change the fonts/colors/etc. Sort of like Optin Monster.

With MailChimp, I've had trouble customizing the forms and particularly had trouble finding a decent popover for MailChimp. Currently using SumoMe and OptinMonster though, so third-party apps to the rescue!

    Sidenote:
These tools may not necessarily help you grow your email list but it can do a lot to help maintain it.

    1. Litmus App which does a great job on analytics and spam filter testing for your email campaigns.

    2. MxToolBox which is a free service in which you can enter in a server IP or domain to see if something is listed as a spammer (greylisting/blacklisting)
