It’s true that email marketing and social media are different by nature and each one has its unique characteristics.

However, as the digital marketing space is becoming more and more competitive, and customers expect an omnichannel experience, it is only logical to combine two of the most effective marketing channels to get the best results possible.

Interestingly, it seems that businesses have understood this and they’ve started adopting a more holistic approach to marketing.

So, in this post, we’re going to explore ways that you can integrate your email marketing with a social media strategy.

    Nice question @Maeva.

I have seen many top marketers do this thing in their email newsletters. Unless my goal is to increase social followers, I see no reason to do just that via email newsletter. I would link out to blog posts, product/services pages, downloads, etc..in my email newsletter.

Overall, thanks Vinayak for sharing John's content here.

    Vinayak, nice post.

Question: Don't you think that these two types of marketing at the same time will bite each other?

For example, an email campaign with a link you want them to click and at the bottom of your email your social handles. Aren't you afraid that your leads will open your social media handles instead of the link you want them to click?

It's a great question that you have asked. So the trick is that you have to present your email content in such a way that if a person opens it he goes through the same hierarchy of content that you want him/her to go through.

You have to work with your email design and template to make sure that your target is achieved. That's why the SM links are kept at the bottom of the mailer.

Hope it will clear your doubt. If not feel free to ask.
