Loved working on this piece and hearing about how founders approached their initial growth campaigns. It's got stories on everything from Blog CRO and Freemium Pricing to Social Automation and Email Outreach.

Doing things that don't scale couldn't be closer to the truth :)

Yep early days is growth is more shooting from the hip, but I've found having some level of process to keep learning from your experiments is key to scaling up. This post helps early-stage founders and seasoned marketers see what shots are worth taking ;)

Round up posts have a bad name these days. Dude ... not this one. Not only are there some genuine insights from a bunch of the experts but Stuart McKeown's advice could be unpacked in an entire post. Plus doing the summary at the top: freakin' nice. (I'm stealing that tactic!)

Thanks Aaron - Definitely agree that the secret is out on crowdsourced pieces - I think Stuart's approach to seed his Beta testers with key influencers was a stroke of genius. Blending that with niche social monitoring, cold email outreach and a Freemium product creates that flywheel effect we all strive for.

Cheers Aaron! They are saturated for sure. And, I get why a lot of people speak down on them. But, with the right positioning, they can still bring a lot of value. Appreciate the comment!

Exactly! Taking the time to write a proper intro with solid positioning helped this one stand out from other crowdsourced pieces. Can't wait till our next one ;)

Awesome post and super pumped to be included. Great to see how many shared that in the earlier days it just came down to being laser-focused & getting your first few customers 1-by-1.

For sure, Mike! Thanks for taking part.

The whole 1-1 marketing strategy was very common. I'm going to need to implement your advice too :) Lots of low hanging fruit there, I think!

Loved your insight on social automation Mike! Your experiment with high volume sharing every 30 mins/24 hrs a day to drive quality traffic is a strong one to keep in mind.

Thanks for the insight Ajay - similar to a link replacement campaign for SERPS but focused on Chrome WebStore rankings and reaching out to old extensions. Love it!

Thanks for the insight Mark - B2B event hustle is key in the early stages - How does your team rank and prioritize events to attend/get speaking engagements?

@brandongains congrats for the overview of so many startups and @robbie_richatrds for sharing it. I've seen that you also included Chris from snappa.io. He is a great entrepreneur and he just sold the other startup bootstrapbay.com to us (http://blog.creative-tim.com/entrepreneurship/bootstrapbay-com-joined-creative-tim-family/). I have written an article about how we grew our startup from 0 to a profitable business and it was well received on Medium with over 3.5k recommends. Do you think some tricks from it would help your audience? Here is the article: https://medium.freecodecamp.com/growing-a-side-project-into-a-17-000-month-business-46024d2aa87f#.tiwgj1nxm
