Did you know 4 out of 5 people won't read that carefully crafted email you just wrote? It doesn't matter if the email literally said "Hey, just click this link and I'll give you $5,000." If you subject line isn't enticing, your email will go unread. No one wants to write a crappy headline. So here's 13 insanely clickable subject line examples (and the psychology that backs them up). BONUS: Some cool free swag we're giving away. Check out the guide to see.

Thanks Sean for not just giving us the email subject lines but the reasons / data behind it!

There are some interesting ideas that you can test after reading this article. But...from my personal experience...We had the most significant increase in Open Rate after delivering emails to Inbox instead of Promo Tab in Gmail.

All other A/B tests with psychology and other different things didn't gave us big uplifts...

Thanks, Joei! Someday someone will stumble onto the ultimate email that has 100% opens and CTR, right.....right....?

Good stuff- I think the important thing in choosing between these is keeping with the character of your brand and offer. Incongruity can help in the short run, but might hurt you long term.

I like this. Noah Kagan does a great job at appearing like a friend in the inbox. It gets old fairly quickly, but the initial emails do really well IMO.

Loved these, especially the very targeted tribal one. 'The broke girls guide to healthy eating'. That could be used over and over again: 'The stressed product managers guide to really understanding...'
'The fired up sales managers guide to...'

Speaks to one group about a specific problem.

Thanks, Sean. Great insight, ideas, data and examples to back it all up. Will certainly be testing these subject lines out on forthcoming campaigns. :-) Very much appreciated.

    Hey Nico,

Ok, these are the type of tips I love. I can actually start implementing them instantaneously.

I really like the FOMO and "Only Open If" tips. I do have to say that emails with these subjects line ideas conjures up my own curiosity and makes me want to open them.

The "You Can Do Better" subject is a good one too. I just thought of my email open rates, and that's something I can definitely do better in!

    Thanks for the share Nico!
